Fusing standard spectrum glass.

I have fused some white and baroque ( blacke and white) in a 12 inch , 8 sided dish to be slumpe.  the  I ran the kiln up to 1550 an held it there for 30 minutes but it did not completly fuse together.

question - do I refire up to a higher temp or same temp and a longer hold. it is 2 layers with a clear top.

Odd....I have fused blue with  clear and iridized black with clear baroque without problems I made 1" strips and counter stacked them like a weave and tack fused sucessfully at 1350.  I am about to re fuse them with spectrum waterglass behind and see what happens.  I want them to be less fragile.... wish me luck!  I have also fused the peppermint baroque to a nearly full fuse.

I haven't gone above 1450 though.

are you sure your glass was totally clean before firing??

Can't hurt to try again...it will either be a lose, lose or a lose, win situation.

842C is very high indeed.

842C is very high indeed.  I can only assume you went afap to your top temperature.  This is not a good idea, as you have very little control over what is happening.  If you can give us more information about your kiln and your fiiring schedule, we may be able to give more assistance.
