Casting with Recycled glass

I am new to the board and have been a long time fuser/caster and now work with recyled glass.  I am working on a public art grant using recycled glass (see myartgrant.blogspot.com).  I come across few artists working with such materials and I am trying to create a list of artists to share info between each other on this glass.  I do not need this for my grant purposes but I may create a page on my website or blog with links to such artists..

I'm very interested in ways to recycle bottles, jars, etc. into artwork or functional pieces. I'd love to hear details about what others have done.

Recycled Glass

I am interested in the recycling of glass.  In particular wine/beer bottles.  I have seen breadboards/cheese boards made from bottles - from what I understand the bottles are broken into pieces then placed into a mould.  I'm guessing the mould would be 4 pieces of fibre board placed together to make a square.  Once fused the piece is then well sanded - the result looking like marble.  Has anyone experimented with this method? I would like to know what kind of temp I would need to use.

You will need to use 850C for a long soak to get things flat and remove bubbles.  A bubble squeeze at ca. 700C - 720C would also help.  You will get a lot of devitrification, so the sanding is essential.
