slicing bottles

I have seen the slumped bottles, and they are cool. During a recent vacation, I saw sun catchers made by slicing bottles into rings. They were fire polished and had hanging dichroic or other glass designs in the center of the rings. I cannot figure how to slice the wine/beer etc bottles into rings. Any suggestions? Caren

A cheap tile saw with a blade for glass will do the job. As the blade does not rise very far above the surface, you have to rotate the bottle.
