Huge bubbles help? pls pls
Could anyone advise me on why all of a sudden I'm getting huge bubbles in my blank work. I have been trying to do blank for a mould. So I'm full/ fast fusing bullseye before the slump fuse. Done it loads of times before using the automated prog on the shutt firebox kiln.
1 The base bullseye clear with top covered in bullseye coloured strips , no glue and in the centre of the kiln Nothing esle been fired. 2 Large bubbles of 3cm across.
2 The base of clear bullseye with partial wavy coloured glass and frit with glue on top. Positioned on top side of kiln with other pieces alongside. 2 large centre bubbles of 6 cm across.
Kiln wash looks ok and the kiln is clean.
Re-tried no 2 piece of glass again with a full new piece of glass placed on the bottom on slow full fuse and the bubbles re-appeared at the same point.
If anyone can help I would be very grateful as I can't afford to keep wasting the glass.
Amanda

Check your shelf for low
Check your shelf for low spots. It sounds like your shelf has developed one or more "warps" . If the bubbles are always appearing above the same place on the shelf, it must be a shelf problem.
