Should I pre-fire?

I'm getting ready to try one of the tutorials on this site (awesome, by the way!) - the fold over bail pendants. I have brand new fiber blanket, fiber board and fiber brick (compressed vermiculite board). Do these require any prefire?

It won't hurt.  Probably

It won't hurt.  Probably not necessary for this application, but for large projects, it is necessary.
