fiber shelf paper 1/8"

I want to use fiber paper but do I need to fire it first prior to using it with glass? If that is true, do I cut it to size prior to the firing or after it is fired? And can it be used more than once? Do I need to put kiln wash on it prior to adding glass on top? How stinky is it when firing?

You do not need to pre-fire the fiber paper.....
It gets a little soft after firing. If you are really careful, you might get a second firing out of it.
You do not need kiln wash with it.
I have never noticed any fumes or odor from it firing.

Fiber paper traditionally was a minimum of 0.5mm thick. Now for many years we also have had "Thinfire". Yes they both are fibre papers, but have very different characteristics.
Thinfire turns to powder so only if your practices are very careful can you use it again - and as many times as you don't disturb it, because it is a separator, even having been fired several times.
Other, thicker fiber papers are made up of ceramic fibres and have longer lives with equavlent treatment. It does give a coarser texture to the back, but this can be reduced by smoothing on dry batt wash. If you do not disturb it, it will last for a long time.

reducing texture on fiber paper
I smooth my 1/8 " fiber paper after it has been previously fired/used with a rolling pin or large dowel rod. What is a "dry batt wash?"
Batt Wash
Some people call it shelf primer.
Batt wash is the ceramics name for the same kind of stuff. The Batt is the ceramic name for teh kiln shelf
