Using rubberstamping to transfer designs on glass that is being fused
Submitted by paulalym on Tue, 08/31/2010 - 17:14.
I'm using this stuff called 'Perfect Medium' by Ranger. It is used to stamp the image on the glass with the rubberstamp. Then the powder frit is applied and excess is removed. I tapped the glass a couple of times to remove the excess. However, after firing with or without capping the image disappears. I try to use white glass so that the image would show but I'm not having good luck at all. Should I be using mica powder or some kind of enamel powder? What am I doing wrong?...I'm new at fusing.

Frit is very weakly
Frit is very weakly pigmented. When you fuse the way you described the layer of color is quite thin. You need either Mica or very pigmented paints or enamels to get color to show well.
