Can one use slip casting molds as fusing molds?
Submitted by glassy on Tue, 01/03/2012 - 17:54.
I have a couple of shallow slip casting molds. They are open faced. One is in the design of a small flower and the other, a leaf.
Is it okay to kiln wash these and do a pate de verre project.... or.... are slip casting molds not meant to be used as fusing molds? Thanks so much!

Slip Casting Mould
Once only. It is made of plaster of paris, so does not stand up well to the heat.
You can slip cast a ceramic mould from it and have it fired for you to a bisque level
